FABIOLA ARROYO

I'm a first-generation student, to this country and to a university. My parents are from Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, and migrated here in 1991. I was born in Seattle, WA, but grew up in Lynnwood, WA until 5th grade when my parents decided to move to Sultan, WA. I graduated from Sultan High School in 2011 as the valedictorian of my class and was accepted into the University of Washington. 

At the University of Washington, I became involved with MEChA de UW, and continuing with the efforts of 22 years of students fighting for a diversity requirement, was a part of the Student Diversity Coalition that worked with faculty to pass and implement a diversity requirement for all students to graduate. I've continued to participate in actions with Decolonize UW and BLM to hold our university accountable and walk their talk. 

I plan on applying to Dental School in June of 2017.
